Bendito Destino Albillo Mayor El Arenal 2022 (1x75cl)

100% Albillo Mayor from the village of Baños Valearados at an altitude of 800-1000 meters. Ancient vines over 100 years old on limestone, ungrafted, bush vines, organic, hand-harvested, gentle whole-cluster pressing on an antique basket press with a short maceration time and cold maceration beforehand. Spontaneous fermentation in concrete, aged in barrels and amphorae. Incredibly fresh, with only a 3.12 pH value, indicating high acidity. Yet, unlike Riesling or Godello at such a pH value, the acidity is not sharp at all. In the nose and mouth, the bone-dry fermented wine is creamy, with dissolved quince, kimchi, a hint of ginger, warm pear, and orange zest. The partly new wood of the barrels is not noticeable as vanilla or wood, but it helps achieve this rich fullness. Creamy orange, slightly green apricot as well, but the creamy, velvety flow full of juiciness lets the charm of this unique wine prevail, enthusiasm for this delicious gem. Albillo can be among Spain's greatest white wines, and this one is clearly among them!
