Founded in 1960s, Castello di Ama is situated in the heart of the Chianti Classico zone, the estate is noted for its rigorous study of Sangiovese clones, undertaken in the interest of isolating those of the highest quality. The nuances of individual vineyard are accessed, and introduced the “Cru” concept to Chianti Classico zone. The first vintage of Chianti Classico Gran Selezione named San Lorenzo is 2010. The wine is ranked No. 6 by Wine Spectator, Top 10 Wines of 2014.
