Chateau Potensac 2006 (1x150cl)

Chateau Potensac 2006 (1x150cl)
40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc. Since the 2005 vintage there has been a move to increase Merlot in the blend. Average yields for the 2008 vintage were 44.2 hl/ha. The grapes are hand-harvested and the wine is fermented at 28 °C in stainless steel and concrete vats with 15 to 18 days maceration and pumping over before maturing in barrel, 30% of which are new. Bright crimson. Still evolving and a strong impression of top quality oak on the nose – and some visible depths. Well balanced and almost aggressively dry(!). Tannins still there in abundance but this could be rewarding for the cellar. Jancis Robinson
