The Merlaut Family took over noble, old Chateau Citran that dates back to the 13th century, in 1996 with the ambition of elevating it to join the highest ranking Haut Medoc wines. The vineyard and cellars were refurbished and plot-by-plot selection and traceability were introduced. As a result, Chateau Citran is regularly recognised in France and abroad, this lovely ruby-coloured wine is the perfect expression of the genuine, sophisticated environment it originates in. It has a rich bouquet of red fruit and subtle, elegant tannins.
