Eric Rodez is not just a winemaker; he is a prominent figure in the Champagne region of Ambonnay, France. The Rodez family has a rich history in winemaking that dates back to 1757, owning 16 hectares of vineyards on the Montagne de Reims, with a focus on Pinot Noir (55%) and Chardonnay (45%). Committed to traditional cultivation methods, their estate is a rare and precious Grand Cru biodynamic vineyard.
In 1984, Eric Rodez returned to the family business after establishing himself as the chief winemaker at Champagne Krug. His experience with Henry Krug taught him the art of blending, while working with Alsace expert Marcel Deiss emphasized the importance of expressing terroir. With a romantic and artistic flair, Eric Rodez conveys his deep respect for the land and his passion for Champagne through every bottle.
Champagne Eric Rodez is celebrated for its "art of blending." Each year, Eric blends at least six to ten different base wines from various plots, grape varieties, and vintages, creating exquisite RM Champagnes that showcase the unique character of each year. The result is a range of natural, fresh, and beautifully intricate Champagnes that are a joy to savor.
