Domaine Hoffmann-Jayer, Cote de Nuits-Villages Rouge 2021 (1x75cl)

A less elegant but attractively fresh mix is comprised by notes of red and blue pinot fruit, newly turned earth and a whiff of violet. There is both excellent volume and punch to the delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess a relatively sophisticated texture thanks to the fine-grained tannins shaping the bitter pit fruit-inflected finale. This could use better depth, but this supporting structure makes clear that it has up to a decade of cellaring potential.
