2022 is this wine’s last vintage as a blend of three parcels. From 2023, Sebastien will bottle the Les Seuvrees parcel separately and make a Vieilles Vignes blend of the other two parcels. There is no new oak here; Sebastien re-uses barrels that have matured his Clos Vougeot and CharmesChambertin. Darkly fruited and mouth-watering, the broadshouldered, muscular tannins of Gevrey are present, but the overall sensation is of freshness and blackberry fruits. Sebastien notes, “If you can taste blackberries, it’s Gevrey Chambertin.”
