The 2022er Riesling Scharzhof is a fruity-styled wine made from the Estate’s holdings in the Saarburger Rausch, the Oberemmeler Rosenberg, the Wiltinger Kupp, and the Wiltinger Braunfels. It offers a very delicate and elegant peach-driven nose of candied grapefruit, minty herbs, lime tree, fine herbs, and smoke. The wine proves superbly zesty and straight on the light-weighted and finely creamy palate. The finish is still marked by some CO2 in need of integration, but the length is superb. The after-taste is just slightly off-dry in taste. This is a superb Scharzhof, which will need a few years to fully deliver. Drink from 2027-2037. Reviewed by Mosel Fine Wines in June 2023
