Borie-Manoux was founded as Borie Frères in Pauillac in 1870. After 1945 one of the brothers, Marcel Borie, took over the existing company, renaming it Borie - Manoux and moving the headquarter directly to the city of Bordeaux. Marcel Borie ran the company until 1961, when his son - inlaw Emile Castéja took over; taking Borie - Manoux on the trail of expansion. Until today, the Castéja family remains 100% - shareholder of Borie - Manoux and has acquired 10 Châteaux in Bordeaux. During the 20th century, Borie - Manoux also acquired a number of Négociants and opened its own production and stocking facilities on 3 hectares surface directly in Bordeaux.
